DAEMON Tools is a program that allows you to mount CD and DVD images as virtual drives in order to access the content of these images without the need for the program that created them. It supports many image formats like: ccd (CloneCD), nrg (Nero), iso (Standard ISO images), cue (Cue sheets), MDS (Media Descriptor), cdi (DiscJuggler) and bwt (BlindRead) b5t and b6t ( BlindWrite) among others.
Another important aspect of DAEMON Tools is the ability to detect and cancel copy systems therefore can be accessed images are protected, with schemes such as safedisc, securom, LaserLock or RMPS, among others.
An advantage of this program is that it allows for testing CD images before burning to a CD-R, which prevents burn an image with faults and therefore losing the non-rewritable CD.
The program is managed from an icon in the taskbar and use is easy.
DAEMON Tools 4.35.5 is the latest version (October 2009) of this software for Windows, which now also supports Windows 7. It’s free.
