Enable Viacam (eViacam) is a program that simulates the movement of the mouse with the head movement by the user, without any special hardware or device rather than a webcam. Combined with other programs that present an onscreen keyboard, can be written without typing.
This application is the solution for people with disabilities as cerebral palsy, or motor problems, can use the PC and surf the Internet. It was developed with the support of the Provincial Cerebral Palsy Association of Tarragona.
eViacam is distributed under the GNU / GPL, therefore it is open to any researcher access to the code and continue to incorporate improvements to this great project.
For the correct operation of the application must take steps designed to optimally configure the webcam. The user’s head should be placed centered and occupy one third of the width of the visual, approximately. Then another aspect must be configured to try and start being critical that allow movements to move the mouse pointer to all sectors of the screen.
It must also configure the way in which the user can click. For example, one option is that the click is automatic (once after a number of seconds to determine without any movements.
eViacam 1.1 is the latest version of this software for disabled people, which can be downloaded free.
